Opps I did it again. I decided not to stay home and walk towards Venice Beach. It is far away and walking isn’t a real option. For that I did it in public transportation. In total for this trip I just spent $4.25, including a stop at Starbucks.
St. Kevin Catholic Church
First I walked towards St. Kevin Catholic Church. I wanted to go to mass to pray for my mother’s health, she isn’t feeling well lately and I am too far away to take care of her. This is killing me so I went to church to pray. I mess with the church’s information, for example I read 1:00pm and the mass started at 12:30, I read the mass was in Spanish and it ended being in English and this was my first Catholic mass where the majority of the people were Asian. Not carrying about my tardiness, I read the gospel, pray and had a good time.
Still using the Maps app I got lost
My gorgeous and carrying Dilma told me that all buses will end up going towards the beach, as I was on Beverly and Alexandria I decided to take the 14th bus. Like my experience with the 16th bus to Santa Mónica this bus stopped in La Cienega (halfway through its final destination). There I randomly walked towards another bus stop. During that walk I have a picture of a big Beverly mall. So relying on the maps app I walked towards the 105th bus stop. After, I got off two stops before I had to because I misread the phone, observe where the bus turned and followed it. You’ll see random pictures of the department of water and power.
Culver City
I walked and arrived to Washington Blvd/Farifax Avenue to take Bus #1 towards Culver City. This bus isn’t covered by my student fare TAP. It costs $1. I usually don’t carry cash with me, but I had $1 to give in church, and because I was late I kept it. God is so perfect, that $1 took me all the way to Venice Beach.
I am sad that I couldn’t take more pictures of Culver City. What I saw was so beautiful that I will definitely do a special walk there. I saw the doors to Sony Pictures Entertainment and ironically, as today was the Super Bowl, the entrance to the NFL Media Studios.
Venice Beach:
Venice Beach was beautiful… And it has public bathrooms, that have toilet paper, soap and work. In the end, my words can’t describe it better than the pictures. This small and beautiful place reminded me of Christiania in Copenhague, and Dominical in Costa Rica. Now, I understand why my friend, Michael Sarill thought that I will love it there. I did…
