2018

2018 left me with thousands of emotions. This year was more than just being a good or a bad year. It had many good and bad on it, so many ups and downs that my heart and soul can barely follow.

The devastating loss of my friend Damarys makes tears run through my cheeks even to the date. My father’s recent passing crushed my heart in indescribable ways. And not being able to establish me careerwise made 2018 hard.

However, through all this hardships love prevails.

My mom visited in March and Jeff Boyer came to show us his new books and reads. My family in law have been there to support me, and my sister and brother in law have been present throughout the year.

My husband and I are gladly in love. We celebrated our love at Disney and nailed the four theme parks together.

Alessandro was born June 1rst and I had the joy to meet him inside his mom’s belly and at the hospital when he was born.

I attended ZinCon2018. I was my sister’s assistant for the Latin Alternative Session 2018. And I shared the Zumba Love. Also, I was able to spend some time with my Zumba girls here at the Lehigh Valley, especially with Monica and Sandria. In the Dance department I got to dance with Twin Rivers Dance Academy on their show Peter Pan, and it was a blast!

This year we got some friends to visit us, Ludi, Addis, Joel, Dany, and Gunnar. Also, I get to spend some time with my friend Susy and made new friend.

I got my Green Card. Sadly it didn’t arrive soon enough to attend Pablo and Camilla’s wedding. However, we did celebrate their happiness from far away.

I renewed my driver’s license and the first thing I did was driving directly to visit Rodolfo and Mark.

I traveled to Honduras to celebrate my mom’s 73rd’s birthday. I was able to spend some time with my family and longtime friends whom I deeply love. I got the chance to meet Mateo. Since he was born, I have only met him in pictures. Mateo brightened my visit in so many ways.

I came back home and worked my first official job as a Holiday clerk. This job has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. It has been a life changing experience that has taught me a lot. I met so many good people, and they gave me a sweet farewell.
On the dawn for the new year’s, we visited our neighbors, Maribel, and George who had this great party and I can just thank them for their kindness. It was a good way to leave 2018 behind.

2018 wasn’t a good or a bad year. 2018 had a little bit of everything.

You can’t have everything you want, but you can hardly try.

2019, I’m ready to laugh, cry and most importantly…

To Love.

Sincerely,

Jimena
