White, cold, freezing and beautiful. When the snowflakes first hit the ground it’s like nothing is happening and then suddenly little by little, step by step the once green grass is cover with white ice.
Walking on snow. It makes this weird noise. The friction between your shoes compacting the ice. It’s unique. It’s marvelous. Nature and its wonders.
When untouched the snow is pristine, clean, like a white porcelain. Out there in the mountains, before any animal steps on it. That’s where the snow reigns. And it’s whiteness can make the heavens look pink.
My husband proposed after a snowstorm. Our backyard was full of snow. The snow was untouched, the sky had a pink tone. The air was chilly. Nothing less to expect from a snow day.
There he bent on one knee. There he asked the question that he already knew the answer for. On that snowy day, he went beyond and from that day on a white snowflake stayed forever on my hand.
